About MrBill'S

Hello Racers!

Like you, I too am a slot-car addict. After getting my first slot car track set for Christmas way back in the early sixty's, I knew that I found a hobby that fit in nicely with all the other things a kid likes to do. In my early teen years commercial slot-car tracks sprung up around our neighborhood and a large portion of my hard-earned paper route money went into purchasing cars and parts to fulfill my needs. It seemed it took all of my spare time was spent experimenting with motors, frames, bodies, and anything else to do with the hobby. Time tolled on by, along came the military, then marriage, a house, and a family. I found that slot car racing was still in my blood and I got back into it. The cars had naturally evolved to the high-tech heights that were never heard of way back when. Winged bodies, laser cut chassis, unbelievably highly torque motors, and magnets that seemed impossible to exist. Once again I was hooked 1/24th and 1/32nd cars filled my slot car box, that is until I discovered H.O. racing! Miniature cars that had blistering speed and incredible down force seemed to be just the challenge that I was looking for. So after racing them for a couple of years at a very large track called HOTT SLOTS in Garden City, Michigan, I sold everything that I owned and moved my family down to Daytona Beach, Florida and got to work building up what I visioned to be one of the premier slot-car tracks in the country. I found that racing on a small track can get boring pretty fast so I decided to build a track on a grand scale. Where many tracks are only twelve feet long, I built mine to be twelve feet wide and almost forty feet long! It's truly an awesome track to race on. 240 feet of some of the fastest track you could ever imagine. Since it seems that most people feet the need for speed, the track has approximately 120 feet of straits and 120 feet of road course with four different degrees of turns. An average box-stock car, Tyco 440X2 for example, turns a lap in about 16 seconds. A hot stock with poly magnets and upgraded gems in about 10 seconds, and an unlimited in the 6 second area. A super-unlimited called a Cheetah by Slot-tech has the track record at 4.555 seconds. That's screaming! The track was manufactured by MaxTrax, powered by is volt batteries, and controlled with the use of a computer projecting onto a 25-inch television screen visible from across the room. Smooth is the word, fast is the result, and together smooth and fast spell fun! Here at Mr. Bills we found that every H.O. slot car manufacturer has a car that has some good points to it, and also unfortunately some not-so-good points, so we try to build our cars with a little bit from various types mixed in. An armature here, a gear there, throw one of those special axles, you get the picture. The goal is to make a pocket-rocket that can compete with anything in its class. Enough of my rambling, its time to put up or shut up, so number one, race to have fun and number two, race to win!
